Which 4-cyl motor was best, longest lasting in 1993-95 ford ranger trucks?

I'm looking at the chilton's and haynes manuals and i notice 2 or 3 different 4-cyl engines that come in these years. 1993-95. Which engine is better? Any insight is helpful. Thanks.
