Why are Holy texts (Bible, Quran, etc.) not continuously expanded?

Back in the day all of kinds of things supposedly happened and were subsequently doented. Why are Holy texts not continuously expanded to reflect modern day "miracles" and "acts of God"? And by "acts of God" I am not necessarily referring to hurricanes, earthquakes and the like. I'm talking about supernatural occurrences as described in Holy texts. And if you must insist on only using hurricanes as an example of God's hand, then why is it not recorded in Holy texts? It would seem that Holy texts would be continuously expanded until "Judgment Day." It would seem that, for example, the earthquake in Indonesia should be recorded as a warning from God, or something like that. Does anybody know why Holy texts are not continuously expanded?
